ABOUT

GERMAN WIREHAIRED
POINTERS

BREEDING SINCE 2019

Welcome to our site, glad you are here! Here is a bit about us, first my name is Jessica I manage this website and will be the one you talk to if you decide to message us! (I'm also the proud owner of Lexi)

My Father is the one who started this whole crazy adventure we have been on since 2019. It all started when we adopted Cooper at 6 months old, he is a Chocolate Lab crossed with "something that jumped the fence". He is brown in color but his coat is completely wiry, people kept saying he must be mixed with a German Wirehaired Pointers (GWP) or a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon (WPG). This is how we first found out about the wirehaired breed which we soon fell in love with. We hunt/hunted with Cooper and Bounce our mixed adopted Labs for years. We enjoyed Cooper's traits so much that my Dad decided he wanted to try this wirehaired breed for ourselves once Bounce retired from hunting. With a lot of research he decided to go with the GWP breed. This is where Sadie comes in, my family has always been believers of the now saying Adopt don't Shop however it was very hard to find this specific breed in any form. We where lucky enough to find a breeder in Sherwood Park, AB. This is where my Father got Sadie and this whole adventure took off!

With the success of our bitches in the field we have decided that this area could use a few more German Wirehaired Pointers. The struggle we had of finding this breed is something we would like to help reduce for others that fell in love with this breed like we have.

German wirehaired pointers are amazing hunters and family dogs alike which means we do not discriminate against families that do not hunt. We are happy to welcome you in the crazy GWP family! We believe these dogs make great family/ adventuring dogs as well a hunting dogs.

Please note this breed does require a lot of work and is not the best fit for all families. If you do not plan on hunting them they will need a different "job" to keep them mentally simulated and relaxed on top of all the running time they need.

If you are considering adopting one of our furry friends please do your research on this breed.

Contact us for any question or if you just want to get an idea of what they are like and skip a bit of googling!

"You'll never tire out a GWP by running it, it will just get in better shape."

*This breed is popular and hard to find. It is a good idea to get on a waiting list in advance, families are usually waiting for them before they are created. Even if its not us find a breeder you like and wait. If a GWP is what you truly want that is my best advice.

At our kennel we believe all of us breeders are all in this together so we are here to answer any of your question to the best of our abilities no matter what kennel you choose.

Education on this breed is something we value greatly so do not be shy!
